Schools and Groups
Napier and Hawkes Bay is very lucky to have such a wonderful public resource such as Pandora Pond, it is an extremely safe environment for children to play and learn. I believe it is one of the best inland water areas in all of New Zealand for school activities.
Being situated right on the water’s edge, Pandora Kayaks can offer groups of all ages a wonderful tailor made experience. If you have team building in mind or simply want to introduce students to some great water sports we can develop a package to suit your objectives.
Kayaking
We can accommodate up to 33 people on kayaks at any one time and you can choose the time frame and structure of your session. Full instruction and safety briefings are given and -
teachers and guardians go free!!
Kayak Orienteering
This is a great option for secondary schools. As you know when students get to years 11,12, and 13 they require more challenging activities and thrive on team building exercises.
- We have several kayak orienteering courses that we can offer.
- Course questions are confined to the Ahuriri estuary and inner harbour.
- Again we can design a session that suits your group and the time frame.
- A full briefing is given to each group encompassing details on the course, safety, the rules, types of questions and time constraints.
Windsurfing
We have a fleet of 5 large beginners’ boards and sails. We will give group lessons to those involved. Normally we will run the windsurfers in conjunction with kayaking activities. Very large beginner’s boards have made windsurfing a relatively easy sport to learn. From ages 13/14 upwards.
You can design your own programme and incorporate any of the activities above into the time frame that suits you. Sessions can be up to 3 hours long
Costs
Kayaking $10 per head (parents and guardians free)
Windsurfing $20 per board & sail
Kayak orienteering $50 per session + $10 per head.
